Autumn
Hello Friends! This time of year brings such excitement in learning. It’s almost too easy. The children love to look up at the sky and ask why? Why are the clouds here sometimes and then they go away? Why is that jet so high in the sky? What makes the leaves change colors? Can we bring the leaves, branches, rocks, bugs, and pine cones into the classroom? Let’s get out the magnifying glasses. Can we open that pumpkin? What is a scarecrow? Can we build a Scarecrow?
Fall is a super fun time for children to learn and so we have to be good stewards at this time and take their minds on adventures. When they ask a question, we have the opportunity to think of all of the ways we can teach from even one inquiry. I always go the bookshelf to reinforce or introduce concepts. Check out the book It Looked Like Spilt Milk (Charles Shaw) for a fun way to lay in the grass and look at the clouds together.
We have openings this fall for new children to join us. Our infant room has 2 spots for children 8weeks-18 months. Our Toddler room has room for 2 children 18-30 months. And our 3K-4K classroom has openings for the academic year. Children receive individualized instruction to meet their developmental levels. They learn to play with friends and how to be a part of a larger group in preparation for public school. consistently, children leave the center with such confidence knowing they have all they need to succeed.
